As of last night, the final votes have been tallied. While around 50 ballots may remain outstanding, they won’t affect the race: they might shrink the margin, or they might not.
Final Results:
Randy George: 4,285 (51.66%)
Jeremy Krones: 4,010 (48.34%)
Total: 8,295 (100.00%)

I called Randy this morning to officially concede. He will continue to serve our community in his position as County Commissioner, and I wish him the best in his term.
I will share a more detailed reflection once I’ve had time to digest the numbers (anyone want to start a local polling agency?), but two initial takeaways are:
The Commissioner race received fewer total votes than all but one of the other contested county-wide races.
I received the highest percentage of votes of any non-Republican challenger in recent history.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to support me throughout this journey. I heard from grade school teachers, family friends, professors, classmates, colleagues, havruta partners, two people I once met at a conference in Anchorage, and a long list of neighbors from the land trust, Rotary Club, the Jewish community, and all across Middle Park.
I have a laundry list of people to thank, and I look forward to connecting with everyone who contributed to ensure you know how much your support meant to me.
This was a clean, honest, and authentic campaign. I relied on just being myself to make it through. The campaign brought a fresh style of communication and engagement to local races, one that I believe sets a standard for how future campaigns can be run.
It also brought up issues which the people of Grand County are interested in seeing addressed in new and creative ways, including:
Updating planning and zoning codes to diversify the housing market
Investing in public transit to reduce traffic and increase road safety
Prioritizing open space and natural resource use and stewardship for our economy and environment
There are also immediate, practical steps our commissioners should take now, like respecting citizen privacy by rejecting automatic license plate readers (Flock cameras) and exercising greater fiscal responsibility with taxpayer funds on special expenses like amicus briefs.
Remember, it is not enough to simply win. A community divided at 50% remains divided. The goal of any real leader should be to collaborate, unify, and build common ground. We often share the same goals: it is only the process to get there that divides us. Let’s work together to create a stronger future for Grand County.
Please stay in touch. My campaign contact info will remain active for a while longer.
Thank you!
