Frequently Asked Questions
"Why are you running for office?"
I am running for county commissioner because I care deeply about this community and want to ensure local decisions reflect the needs and desires of the people who live in Grand County. My experience in Grand County has been defined by how we can work together in times of calm and times of crisis. I am committed to improving social services, protecting natural resources, and planning responsibly for our future.
"Why are you running as an independent?"
I am running unaffiliated because my priority is representing the people of Grand County as one community. Through my work in land conservation I learned that even with our differences we can find solutions to real issues through dialogue and collaboration.
“Working together” does not mean I don’t take strong positions; it means I focus on solutions which work for Grand County. Both major parties have people who care deeply about this community, but our local challenges are practical, not partisan, and are best solved by talking with our neighbors and working together for Grand County.
"Where are you from?
When and why did you move to Grand County?"
I was raised on a small farm in Frederick County, Maryland. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2013, I moved to the Adirondacks in upstate New York, and then northern Arizona.
I came to Grand County in September 2018 to run Colorado Headwaters Land Trust, a nonprofit working to conserve private property throughout the county. I was happy to move here for the beautiful landscapes, accessible public lands, abundant wildlife, and welcoming communities!
"If you live in Grand Lake, how are you running in District 3?"
I live outside of town, west of US Highway 34, which is the boundary between districts 2 and 3 north of Granby.

"Can I vote for you if I don't live in your district?”
Yes! Each commissioner of our three-person board must live in their own district, but the entire county gets to vote for all three commissioners. What matters is that you are a registered voter in Grand County.
"What do you do for work?"
I am a freelance/contract grantwriter, administrator, and consultant for small nonprofits and businesses. I also work on a trail crew in the summer and I officiate weddings and celebrate other life events!
From 2018-2025 I was the Executive Director of Colorado Headwaters Land Trust, based in Granby and serving Grand County.
"What else do you do?"
I currently serve on the Grand County Library District Board of Trustees, and am a member of the Rotary Club of Granby and the Grand County Jewish Community. I volunteer in other ways, too, like adopting trails in Arapaho National Forest, helping with Grand County’s National Public Lands Day, and auctioning pies at Hot Sulphur Days!
I also serve on the boards of other nonprofits and charitable foundations, giving me experiences in leadership, budget planning, grant funding, and understanding the needs and desires of rural communities like our own.
"So, what comes next?"
I want to meet you! You will be able to find me out and about in the community, attending public meetings, going to community events, doing service in the neighborhood, or working at the library or coffee shop.
I will have a few get-togethers over the next few months until the election, to get to know more of my neighbors in person and to better understand the issues each Grand County resident care most deeply about. Keep an eye on my social media or sign up for email updates to learn more!
